Things I’m Loving Tuesday!

Two days in a row that I blogged?! No way! Yep, it’s true. I have missed this space and will hopefully be popping back in regularly. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to talk about some things that I’ve been loving lately, so here we go….!

The fact that these exist make me so so happy! I’ve always loved Honey Nut Cheerios and anything/everything pumpkin spice, so this is a no brainer for me! Can’t wait to try them, have any of you tried them yet?

Have you heard of the new clothing line Target is carrying called Cat and Jack? I’m just in love with it, they not only have amazing color selections (I’m into the neon/bright colored things) but they have positive messages and things like dinosaurs for girls! Girls like dinosaurs too! Especially my girl, she even knows their names. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you should. We got Charlotte this shirt…

One thing I haven’t grown out of since being a kid is rainbow chip cake and frosting being my favorite. When I saw Sally recreate the frosting with recognizable ingredients I knew I needed to make it ASAP! I cannot wait to run to the store for the ingredients for this frosting, yum!

I mean, how good does this look?!

I’m really looking forward to fall. The smells, tastes, feeling, and the clothes! I love to wear comfy, cozy clothing and fall is the best time to do that. I bought these Bobs right before summer and only had a chance to wear them once. I’m so looking forward to wearing them again here soon!

And speaking of cozy/comfy clothing, I’m not even sure why I waited so long to try LuLaRoe. Now that I have, I’m never going back to regular leggings. I hosted a party for my friend Lindsay this weekend and it was so fun! I really love LuLaRoe!

Your turn……

What have you been loving lately? Anything I can’t live without? Please share!

Easter Basket Ideas For Toddlers

Am I the only one that finds it weird that Easter is in March this year? It’s totally blowing my mind. It is truly starting to sneak up on me though, so I put together some ideas for a toddler Easter basket! Enjoy…

  1. This Easter basket-It is so cute! Last year I totally didn’t get a big enough basket, so this one should do the job!
  2. Stamp set-Charlotte is really into stamps right now and we only have one set. We really like the Melissa and Doug version.
  3. Glitter Eggs-I cannot hide the real hard boiled eggs in my house so these plastic ones will have to do.
  4. Egg decorating kit-This kit looks like fun to decorate our eggs with!
  5. Easter Cookies-These are so ridiculously cute! I just love Williams Sonoma.
  6. Easter Pajamas-I’m a sucker for holiday themed pajamas, I just think it’s cute when Charlotte wakes up in her holiday pj’s for morning festivities.
  7. Bunny Slippers-I can’t even handle kids in slippers, these are just too adorable.
  8. Resurrection Eggs-This simple but educational gift teaches kids about the true meaning behind why we celebrate Easter.
  9. Ollies Easter Eggs-I’ve mentioned my love for Ollie’s books in the past but this one is just too cute. The illustrations in this book are to die for, I think we’ve read it about a dozen times so far and we’ve had it checked out from the library for a week.

This Season Of Motherhood

Lovely Flower

I’m finding myself extremely fond of this particular season of motherhood. There are many times a day that I try and soak into my memory moments that are so fleeting. My husband and I celebrated this weekend with a couple who are expecting their first child next month. This celebration of new life had me reflecting upon the past 2 1/2 years and how quickly they’ve gone by. The first few months are such a blur of no sleep, feeding the baby, changing their diaper, and keeping your sanity. I remember feeling so guilty for grieving the loss of my old life, my independence, my life with just my husband. We soon settled into a groove that was beautiful, I had dreamed of being a stay at home mom since I was little and I was finally living my dream. Each phase seemed to come and go so quickly, our schedule of life changed as soon as we got used to the previous one. I craved something more consistent, I was am such a planner and scheduled person that the shifting phases of newborn life was a challenge for me.

I remember researching each phase, and how long it would last, getting ready to prepare for the next one. However, if I’m ever blessed with another child I will choose to live in the present season, and soak up every little moment in that season (even the hard ones).

I am loving the current phase of motherhood I am in right now. I love the wonderful interactions and conversations I have with Charlotte. I would talk to Charlotte constantly when she was a baby but it’s so different having her be able to understand what I say and react to it. She is seriously a sponge, she soaks up everything, watching, listening. I love her sense of humor, she’s truly hilarious. Though we have a solid schedule (she goes to bed at 7:30 and is up at 7am, naps from 1-3) we do have flexibility if our days require it. She rarely has trouble sleeping at night (thank you Jesus) and loves her naps (another thank you Jesus). She has started to remember when I tell her something exciting that is coming up (like a birthday party, and ice cream treat, etc) this is both good and bad.

“Mama, I love you forever” is what my daughter told me one day while I was holding her close to me. I know she doesn’t understand the concept of forever but she does understand love. When I dreamed of our lives together when I was pregnant I dreamed of a life full of joy and love. I wanted my daughter to understand the love that I feel for her, that there is nothing I wouldn’t do for her. In the moment she spoke those words to me I felt like she knew, she could feel what I felt for her. This season of motherhood I am choosing to be present and soak up all that I can knowing that it will pass all too quickly and I won’t be able to get it back.

Would You Rather Survey

Good Morning everyone! Happy Friday…woohoo! Any fun plans? We have a couple’s baby shower to attend and a birthday party for a 3 year old. Should be a lot of fun. I thought I would do a would you rather survey that I originally found on Heather’s blog Life in Leggings.

Would you rather….

Be an amazing actor/actress or singer?

Absolutely my answer would be singer. I have always wanted a beautiful singing voice but I was just not blessed with one.

Go camping in the mountains for the weekend or get a hotel on the beach?

I’m going to go ahead and say hotel on the beach, only because my hubby and I have a vacation coming up to Cancun for the two of us. I cannot wait to sip a cocktail on the beach with my hot husband. Yes please…

Have to sit all day or stand all day?

Hmmm….well I’ve had an office job where I sat most of the day and I had a customer service job where I stood all day. I think if I could have the choice I’d pick a happy medium, but if it’s only between these two options I’d get some good shoes and pick standing all day.

Be able to exist healthily without food or without sleep?

I would truly love to be able to exist healthily without so much sleep. I’m the kind of person that needs a solid 8-9 hours in order to feel rested. You can imagine how the newborn days (I totally just typed years, maybe it felt like years, ha!) went for me….

Have a night out on the town or night in with Netflix?

I’m totally going to be boring here and say a night in with Netflix. I think every blue moon a night out on the town is fun but then I think of my daughters normal 7am wakeup call and I cringe.

Go skiing/snowboarding or waterskiing?

For sure skiing!! There is something magical about the mountains and the peace it brings me, plus there is something fun about going downhill superfast! Let’s not even discuss my major fear of being in water that I can’t see through.

Drink hot or iced coffee/tea?

I’m going to cheat on this one because I can’t pick just one. I have hot coffee in the morning and iced in the afternoon, always. It has to be super freezing outside for me to have hot coffee in the afternoon.

Cook a gourmet meal at home or order take-out from an upscale restaurant?

I cook most every night so there’s something indulgent about having take-out from an upscale restaurant.

Live without music or television?

Without television without a doubt. Brent and I actually got rid of cable the second year we were married and haven’t turned back. We like to have music playing often.

Take a European sight-seeing vacation or relaxing Caribbean vacation?

European sight-seeing vacation, both Brent and I like to ‘do’ things on our vacations. There is so much history to be learned about in Europe, that sounds like a blast to be able to explore like that!

Now your turn…..
